Who we are
Welcome to the Vandegrift Vipers Cricket Club, the first cricket club in any Leander Independent School District (ISD) school! Founded in 2022 by a then Vandergrift High School sophomore, our club is driven by a passion for cricket and a desire to make the sport accessible to all.
The Vandegrift Vipers Cricket Club was born out of a vision to increase the footprint of cricket in our community. Dedication and love for the sport led to the establishment of this club, and since then, we’ve been on a mission to introduce cricket at the school level and among the parent community in Leander ISD.

Our vision is to foster a vibrant cricket community, not just at Vandergrift High School but throughout Leander ISD. We believe in more than just teaching cricket; we aim to promote values of teamwork, discipline, and cultural diversity.
Our mission
At the Vandegrift Vipers Cricket Club, we are dedicated to:
Introducing Cricket: We aim to make cricket an accessible and inclusive sport for everyone, whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player.
Cultivating a Cricket Culture: We believe in sportsmanship, camaraderie, and respect on and off the field, imparting life skills through the game.
Promoting School-Level Cricket: Our goal is to establish cricket as a recognized and respected sport within Leander ISD, with the ambition of making it a PE credit option.
Increasing Cricket’s Footprint: We’re committed to expanding the reach of cricket by initiating similar clubs and programs at other high schools and middle schools within Leander ISD, creating a network of cricket enthusiasts.
Community Engagement: We engage with the wider community through events, workshops, and partnerships, sharing the joys and benefits of cricket.
